Game Designer

Full-time role tasked with designing gameplay for lowiro projects and working with level design (charting) team leads in peer reviews.


Preferred: Japan (Tokyo) or UK (London)

Annual Salary

2.5 - 5.5 Million JPY
* For Tokyo location.
* For London location, salary will be adjusted.


Alongside your base pay, you will also be eligible for an annual bonus as well as:

Description of role

You will be tasked with designing levels (charts), input mechanisms and gimmicks for lowiro projects, creating compelling physical gameplay experiences across all difficulty levels.

You will work closely with the chart design team, and will be engaged in in-depth review processes for each chart.

You will work with in-house chart design tools, and will frequently communicate asynchronously between team members spread across the globe.

Please note that this is not an entry level position, and that proven experience is required.

  • Experience in chart design for rhythm games (5+ years personal or 2+ years professional)
  • Business-level English with the ability to work within a fully English development team
  • A keen interest in rhythm games and media in Japan as well as an understanding of the Rhythm Game Market
Favorable skills
  • Professional experience charting for commercial rhythm games
  • Experience leading and managing a team of chart designers, and overseeing chart production and long-term difficulty progression.
  • Experience charting for a wide variety of rhythm games with different control schemes
  • Experience charting low-difficulty charts for rhythm games
  • Bilingual English and Japanese ability
  • Firm understanding of musical terminology, basic music theory or song composition and arrangement
  • Relatively high skill in multiple rhythm games
